The new City comes close on the heels of the revelation of Honda’s strategy to gain in sales volumes. Honda’s latest release will come in six to eight variants of petrol and diesel cars with a 1.5 liter capacity and also a automatic transmission opt-in. The diesel engine has been borrowed from the Honda Amaze but will be a more powerful version.

The Toyota Alphard is a luxury MPV produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota since 2002. It is available as a seven or eight-seater with 2.4 and 3.0-litre gasoline engines in 3 different model lines - Alphard G, Alphard V and Alphard Hybrid. The Alphard is primarily made for the Japanese market, but is also sold in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand,[2] and Malaysia. The vehicle was named after the Alphard, the brightest star in the constellation Hydra.

The full-size Alphard Hybrid MPV qualifies as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV), achieving levels 75% lower emissions than the Japanese government's 2000 benchmark. The 2.4-litre gasoline engine has been developed specifically for use in Toyota's hybrid systems and features a high-expansion ratio cycle that raises efficiency and reduces friction.

In 2006, a Royal Lounge Alphard was introduced. It is a luxurious, four-seat version of the Alphard. Its traditional competitor from Nissan is the Elgrand.

Proton Exora REEV Menang Dua Anugerah di London

JURUTERA PROTON MAMPU MEMBANGUNKAN KERETA HIJAU

Kereta elektrik jarak tambahan nasional (REEV), Proton Exora REEV berjaya memenangi anugerah pada Cabaran Kereta Masa Depan Brighton ke London RAC (FCCBTL-RAC) buat kali kedua berturut-turut semalam.

Lebih menarik, Exora REEV bukan hanya memenangi anugerah Kereta Pelbagai Guna Cekap Tenaga terbaik, ia juga turut berkongsi anugerah Kenderaan Elektrik Jarak Tambahan (E-REV) terbaik dengan jenama gergasi pembuat kereta, Toyota.

Pertandingan Brighton to London RAC Future Car Challenge 2011 yang diadakan pada 5 November yang lalu di UK telah menyaksikan Proton memenangi dua kategori dengan mengungguli anugerah ‘Best Overall Extended Range’ dan ‘Most Energy Efficient Multi-Purpose’ melalui model Proton Exora Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV). Pertandingan RAC Future Car Challenge 2011 melibatkan penyertaan 65 buah kenderaan rendah emisi, sesetengahnya tidak pernah dilihat di jalan raya di UK sebelum ini – bersaing merebut gelaran teratas dalam tiga kelas penyertaan berbeza dan tujuh kategori kenderaan, daripada kenderaan penumpang kecil sehinggalah kenderaan komersial ringan.

Cabaran sejauh 60 batu itu menampilkan pelbagai kenderaan dari pengeluar kereta terkenal dunia yang saling bersaing menggunakan sumber tenaga paling sedikit dalam perjalanan dari Brighton ke London. Selain kereta dengan sistem pembakaran dalaman konvensional yang rendah emisi, penyertaan tersebut turut menyenaraikan kereta elektrik, hibrid dan kereta yang dijana menggunakan sel bahan api hidrogen.

Simon Park, Pengarah Urusan Bahagian Jualan dan Pemasaran Proton di UK menjelaskan, penyertaan Proton kali ini melibatkan tiga buah kereta iaitu Exora REEV, Saga EV dan Persona Elegance REEV. Menurut Simon, mereka sangat berbangga dan gembira dengan kejayaan yang diraih oleh Exora REEV dalam pertandingan itu. Ianya secara jelas menunjukkan komitmen tinggi Proton terhadap produk eksport dan pelaburan untuk memperkenalkan model kereta baharu dalam segmen hibrid dan elektrik bagi memenuhi permintaan yang semakin berkembang.

Honda Civic 2012 Tidak Masuk AS

Amerika Serikat - Setelah bencana alam gempa bumi di Jepun dan banjir yang melanda Thailand, kilang pengeluaran kereta Honda di Jepun menangguhkan pengeluaran  Civic 2012 untuk dealer di Amerika Serikat.

Menurut Inside Line, Pada waktu ini penjualan ditunda kerana Honda Civic tidak dapat  dijual. "Dealer tidak dapat menjual kereta yang tidak ada fiziknya. Biasanya penjualan Civic sangat lancar. sekiranya ada, terus terjual," kata jurucakap perusahaan.

Sayangnya penjualan di AS tidak akan pulih dalam waktu cepat, kerana kilang kedua Honda di Thailand masih belum berfungsi kerana banjir besar di Bangkok. Banjir besar di Bangkok sebabkan 15% penduduk Thailand hilang pekerjaan.

MINI is both the name of a subsidiary of BMW, and a car produced by that subsidiary since 2001. The car is marketed as a "retro" redesign of the original Mini, which was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 to 2000. To distinguish it from its predecessor (the 'classic Mini'), the brand name for the new car is MINI (written in capital letters). It is often called 'The BMW MINI', 'The New MINI', or simply 'MINI'. The MINI is manufactured in Cowley, Oxford, United Kingdom, in what was historically the Morris car plant.

Models




The MINI is available in seven models: the MINI One D, the MINI One, the MINI One Convertible, the MINI Cooper, the MINI Cooper S, the MINI Cooper Convertible and the MINI Cooper S Convertible. In Portugal, the MINI One is powered by a 1.4 l version of the Tritec engine but all other gasoline powered MINIs use the 1.6 l version. Since 2004, a soft-top convertible option has been available across the entire range.



There are numerous styling and badging differences between the models, perhaps the most obvious being that the Cooper S has a distinctive scoop cut into the bonnet to provide airflow over the top mounted intercooler. The Cooper S also has twin exhausts which exit under the center of the rear valance. The (non-S) Cooper has more chrome parts than the MINI One and has a single exhaust. The MINI One/D has no visible exhaust pipes at all.



In some markets, such as Australia and the US, only the MINI Cooper and Cooper S are sold because the MINI One's engine was considered to deliver insufficient power to run an air conditioner - a necessary feature in those climates. However, the only difference between the engines in the 'One' and the 'Cooper' models is a software change within the engine control unit which is tuned for optimum fuel economy on the MINI One and for a compromise between power and economy on the Cooper. Almost fifty percent of all MINIs sold in Australia and about seventy percent of those sold in the US are the top-of-the-range Cooper S model.
The names Cooper and Cooper S echo the names used for the sportier version of the classic Mini which in turn come from the involvement of John Cooper and the Cooper Car Company. The Cooper heritage is further emphasised with the John Cooper Works (JCW) range of tuning options that are available with the MINI.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian police has bought 25 high-powered Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution cars to catch criminals and speed hogs.

The cars, worth several millions of ringgit, would be fitted with safety gadgets and would sport the looks of police patrol cars.

Sources said the police had al­­ready taken possession and were testing the cars before sending them to the Road Transport Depart­ment for registration and approval.
“The cars are to be used in high-speed car chase, especially in cases of carjacking, kidnapping and hi­­jacking.

“The speed of the cars would enable the police to catch up with criminals who often used modified turbo charged cars to escape,” they said.

Several police personnel have been sent to undergo intensive driving classes to ensure they are able to handle the super charged cars, they added.

 

The cars, they said, would also be used by the highway patrol unit to monitor speed hogs or illegal racers
